Liverpool Biennial – 15 September – 25 November 2012

It’s here, the Liverpool Biennial 2012, the greatest art exhibition in the whole of the country and internationally this year;  Ten weeks of free exhibitions, talks, films, tours and events.  The theme of the Liverpool Biennial is Hospitality.

Artist Jose Angel Vanchench

I took the decision to become a volunteer for the ten weeks to support the 27 locations that 242 artists have exhibits in.  I have promised myself that I would visit all the exhibitions and have ten weeks to do it.  As a volunteer I have been at The Cunard Building, The Tea Factory and the wonderful previous Royal Mail sorting office, LJMU Copperas Hill Building.  This has given me the chance not only of seeing the artist’s work but also to have the privileged of meeting some of the artist’s personally.  The comments in the Sunday Times Culture magazine this week reiterates that Liverpool’s Biennial is by far the best and a revelation.  If you have not visited any of the venues yet, you can be sure that where I am based,  at the Copperas Hill Building, Felicity and her band of volunteers and helpers will give you a wonderful informative welcome  This is the same throughout the city, the theme of ‘Hospitality’ is echoed by all welcoming the visitors to this festival of UK Contemporary Art.
If you want a spooky venue visit, the Munro in Duke street, without giving anything away.

All venues are free, It’s Liverpool, don’t miss out!
